Another bathroom remodeling

About this project

This Pasadena bathroom remodel transformed an outdated, closed-in space into a modern, light-filled retreat built around clean lines and calm materials. We began by stripping the room back to the studs, replacing the old plumbing and electrical rough-in, and rebuilding the waterproofing layer so the shower and wet areas would stay sound for years to come. From there the room came together around large-format porcelain tile that rises from the floor up the walls, a floating vanity with a backlit mirror, and integrated lighting that keeps the space bright without feeling cold.

The design approach was intentionally quiet: a soft, neutral palette, brushed fixtures, and frameless glass that lets the tile do the talking. Because this is an older Pasadena home, we coordinated closely with the city during plan review and inspections, protecting the existing character of the house while bringing the bathroom up to current California building codes. We handled demolition, framing adjustments, waterproofing, tile setting, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, and the final paint and finish work as one licensed team, which kept the schedule predictable and the details consistent.

For homeowners planning a similar bathroom renovation in Pasadena or across Los Angeles County, the biggest variables are the existing plumbing layout, how much the room is reconfigured, and the tile and fixtures you choose. A focused refresh with new surfaces, fixtures, and lighting in the same footprint typically takes two to four weeks, while a full gut renovation with relocated plumbing can run longer. We provide a detailed scope, a clear line-item estimate, and regular progress updates before and during construction. The finished bathroom feels larger, easier to clean, and genuinely restful: large-format tile, integrated lighting, coordinated fixtures, and clean, minimalist lines that hold their value long after the last inspection.
